John Baker turns 1!

John Baker turned 1 on June 3. It was a small but great celebration. Happy Birthday "Boo boo"!

Dearest John Baker,

What a blessing you have been to us over the past year.  You are such a character already and super sweet.  Yes, you are VERY busy but your sweetness makes up for that!  You are quite bashful/shy around new people.  You sweetly lay your head on my shoulder when someone talks to you.  You are an EXCELLENT sleeper.  You go to bed around 6 or 7 and we don't hear from you again until about 7 AM.  You are quite picky in your choice of food and will shove whatever you don't want to eat off your tray in a heartbeat.  You definitely possess many of the "boy" qualities.... very rough with toys and shove or throw things out of your way when you are on a mission.  You LOVE opening and closing cabinets or doors.  This entertains you for quite a while.  Also, opening and closing books is a favorite.  You also enjoy reading books as you laugh the whole time.  It is really funny!  You have begun to point and wave hello, also.  Your only real word that I hear is "hey".  I have heard "mama" and "dada" many times but I am really not sure you understand those completely!  You have not started walking yet but are a master at pulling up and cruising.  I'm sure it won't be long before you take off.  Most mornings you are extremely happy and sweet but you want your bottle IMMEDIATELY.  After a nice bottle you are good to go.  Breaking you of the bottle will be a challenge, but we will get there (one day)! :)  We went swimming for the first time yesterday and you really seemed to enjoy it although the water was quite frigid.  We have definitely been blessed with your sweet spirit and we love you so much.  Happy 1 year boo boo.  Looking forward to many more years of your sweetness!  Love you son!
